Back in 1979 someone in the Lions Club suggested putting on a stage show to entertain the people at the clubs annual senior citizens party might be a good idea! A variety show was written, produced and directed by the late Joan Deering. After many hours of practice the show was put on, on the stage of the Foster Hall in the grounds of St Lawrence's Hospital. This first show in Jan 1980 was the start. In Jan 1981 the first full Pantomime ALADDIN was staged. We have put on a pantomime each year since and to celebrate our 25th year we once again staged Aladdin in Feb 2005. Aladdin was great success and the lions decided to donate the profits to the Tsunami appeal these profits were boosted by both the Bodmin Town Council and the Bodmin Community Association, they both waived Hire charges for the use of the Rooms. The 2006 pantomime was Peter Pan and started Wed 22nd Feb 2006 This was later than normal, we had a few problems, but we hope to be back in our normal slot next year. Bodmin Lions would like to thank all our helpers and supporters who enabled us put on yet another Pantomime. At our September 2006 meeting it was decided we would not be putting on a Pantomime for 2007 in fact Peter Pan may have been the last Lions Pantomime in Bodmin.
